Our Mission
At North Cascade Golden Retrievers, our mission is to produce healthy, high quality dogs for both companionship and hunting.
We are committed to providing dogs that are not only good hunting companions, but also great fireside companions at the end of the day.
Please browse our web site and feel free to e-mail us with any questions about us, our dogs, or Golden Retrievers in general.
If you have never owned a Golden Retriever, we encourage you to take some time to educate yourself. Raising a puppy to maturity is a big commitment in terms of time, energy and resources. It is not for everybody. Please peruse our resources page. We will try to update and add links as we find important things related to the breed.
Sadly, there are health issues that plague all breeds of dogs. Some of the biggest problems for the Golden Retriever are hip dysplasia, eye disorders, and heart disease. Treatments for these diseases can be very expensive, ineffective or non-existent. That is why prior to breeding, we ensure that both parents that have at minimum all of the health clearances recommended by the OFA. Pups that come from cleared parents are much less likely to be affected.
