Rich discovered his love for Goldens when his family got their first puppy "Chamios" in 1990. Growing up on a lake, Chamios made the perfect water companion. With her four tennis balls which she carried in her mouth, Chamois was always ready for action.
Later he and his wife Jana, together, got their first Golden Retriever named Shasta. Soon their first daughter Natalie came along. Natalie's first words at 9 months of age, formed the complete sentence: "Shasta don't lick!"As the years went by, several more Taft children came along. All of us have together enjoyed sharing in the wonderful temperament, intelligence, and high spirit of the breed. We have been involved in obedience, 4H, and hunt training with our dogs, as well as the occasional litter.
